The cord that the cross is on is very sturdy and tied in a slip-knot fashion so that it can be worn higher or lower on the neck. It also prevents those small hairs on the back of a person's neck from being pulled. The cross itself was surprisingly heavy (not in a bad way) and obviously very fine quality. I am very pleased with this product and plan on buying another one for myself.
